The Post University women's volleyball team clinched the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference North Division Regular Season title with its 3-0 win over Dominican on Wednesday night.
Post has now won seven of its last eight matches as it improves to 16-13 overall and 13-5 in the CACC.
Things To Know
- It was the 12th shutout of the season for the Eagles and their fifth in the last eight matches.
- Senior Madison Hunziker led the way for the Eagles with 11 kills and classmate Sarah Seger (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) had ten.
- Hunziker's 3.49 kills per set is good enough for fifth in the CACC
- Freshman Rylie Arms (Gilbert, Ariz.) had nine kills and is second in the CACC with a .344 hitting percentage.Â
- Senior Brianna Root (Bristol, Conn.) had another 38 assists on the night and is third in the CACC with 9.48 assists per set.
- The Eagles jumped out to a 9-1 lead in set one to help give them a 1-0 lead. Seger had four of her kills during the stretch.
- Down 4-3 early in the second set, the Eagles went on a 12-3 run, capped by an ace from sophomore Suzy Boulay (Kingston, N.Y.) to give Post a 15-7 lead.
- Another monster start in the third set, this time an 11-2 run, helped Post coast to the third set win and close out the match.
Up Next: The Eagles take on Holy Family, the CACCÂ South Champion, to close out the regular season on November 3 at 2 p.m. at the Drubner Center.
