Desrosiers 26 Points Not Enough as Eagles Drop CACC Game at Nyack 67-63

NYACK, N.Y. – The Post University men's basketball team fell to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North rival Nyack 67-63 on Tuesday night. The Eagles now stand at 6-15 overall and 5-7 in CACC play.

Post came out hot to start the second half as it quickly turned a one-point halftime lead into a 42-30 advantage with 15:16 to play. Four different Eagles connected from distance to build the lead. Nyack answered with an 11-0 run and eventually pulled in front 57-52 with 6:15 remaining.

The Eagles would take a 63-59 lead with 2:17 to play after a three-pointer by senior Tyler Desroisers (Agawam, Mass.), who finished with a game-high 26 points, and free-throw from classmate Joseph Lockwood (London, England), but would not score again and Nyack took advantage.

Post trailed for most of the first half until a three-pointer from Lockwood tied the game 20-20 with just 4:39 to play. From there the teams traded leads down the stretch until a jumper by freshman Darrick Boyd (Springfield, Mass.) in the closing seconds gave the Eagles a 29-28 advantage at the break.

Boyd finished with 12 points, seven rebounds, and two steals. Sophomore Savion Boissard (Walden, N.Y.) added 10 points. Lockwood had eight points and eight boards.

The Eagles return to action on Saturday afternoon at Georgian Court. Game time is 3 p.m.
