Fitzgerald Scores as Eagles Fall to Saint Anselm 6-1

Eagles and Hawks finish weekend series tomorrow at 2 p.m.

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Sophomore Kendall Fitzgerald (Kamloops, British Columbia) scored her second goal of the year but it was not enough as the Post University women's ice hockey team was defeated by Saint Anselm 6-1 on Friday night in Manchester, N.H.

Post fell behind 4-0 after the first period. Fitzgerald put the Eagles on the board with 4:22 to play in the second as her shot from the right circle deflected off a defender into the goal. Freshmen Kayleigh Miller (Braselton, Ga.) and Mikayla Santjer (Aberdeen, S.D.) assisted on the score.

Freshman goaltender Ashlynn Neurauter (Kamloops, British Columbia) made 40 saves in goal. Sophomore Molly Brumfield (Columbus, Ohio) won a game-high 12 face-offs.

Post and Saint Anselm will be back in action tomorrow afternoon at 2 p.m.
