Brandon Brown (Hanahan, S.C.) was impressive between the pipes and made a season-high 60 saves in the game.
After a scoreless first period the Skyhawks got on the board with a goal by Conor Cassidy early in the second. Sophomore
Tyler Hackett (Branford, Conn.) tied the game just a few minutes later on a power play off assists from junior
Brian Hurley (Long Beach, N.Y.) and sophomore
Lucas Smith (Calgary, Alberta).
Freshman
Nolan Arbuckle (Wilmington, Mass.) put the Eagles in front with a power-play goal, his first of the season, with 13:45 to go in the third. Senior
Christopher Harris (Barnstable, Mass.) found him for the go-ahead score. Stonehill tied the game on a breakaway score with 6:59 left in regulation.
Post controlled the puck most of the overtime period and outshot the Skyhawks 4-2S, but Stonehill held a 62-27 advantage overall in shots on the night.
The Eagles and Skyhawks return to the ice tomorrow at 5:10 p.m.
