NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Post University men's basketball team was defeated by Merrimack 69-63 on Thursday night at Hammel Court in North Andover, Mass. Senior
Tyler Desrosiers (Agawam, Mass.) scored 21 points to lead the Eagles.
Post fell behind by five early on until a 10-0 run sparked by two threes from Desrosiers put the Eagles in front 17-9 with 12:59 remaining in the first. Merrimack slowly chipped away at the lead and pulled ahead on a three-pointer by Khalief Crawford with 4:09 left. The Warriors took a 39-28 lead into halftime.
Merrimack led by as many as 15 points in the second. Post used an 11-3 run to climb back within single digits at 49-42 but were never able to pull closer than five points the rest of the way.
Sophomore
Savion Boissard (Walden, N.Y.) scored 12 points and grabbed six rebounds. Freshman
Darrick Boyd (Springfield, Mass.) added nine points, while senior
Joseph Lockwood (London, England) led the Eagles with 10 boards.
The Eagles return home on Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. against Goldey-Beacom.
