Teams will finish weekend series tomorrow afternoon

SHELTON, Conn. – The Post University women's ice hockey team was defeated by Franklin Pierce 9-1 on Friday night at the SportsCenter of Connecticut. Sophomore Kendall Fitzgerald (Kamloops, British Columbia) scored her first goal of the season in the loss.

Freshman Paige Dundas (La Broquerie, Manitoba) controlled the puck for Post in the defensive zone and hit junior Alana Lopez (Wolcott, Conn.) with a pass off the boards. Lopez found Fitzgerald speeding up the ice and the sophomore put back her own rebound to put the Eagles on the board with 7:52 to go in the second period, making to score 6-1.

The Eagles had two other great chances on breakaways by Dundas and sophomore Sierra Alarid (Cheyenne, Wyo.) but were unable to convert.
