Men’s Basketball Takes Down Chestnut Hill 81-63

Eagles outscore Griffins 45-25 in second half

WATERBURY, Conn. – The Post University men's basketball team grabbed an 81-63 victory over Chestnut Hill in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game at the Drubner Center Wednesday night. The Eagles improve to 4-11 overall and 3-4 in CACC play.
 
Senior Tyler Desrosiers (Agawam, Mass.) was 6-for-8 from behind the arc and finished with 24 points and five rebounds. Freshman Darrick Boyd (Springfield, Mass.) added 14 points, four rebounds, and two steals.
 
The Eagles closed out the night on a 21-5 run over the final 6:59 of the game and outscored Chestnut Hill 45-25 in the second half. Post trailed by two at the half, but a three by Desrosiers off a pass from senior Lockwood (London, England) to start the second gave the Eagles the 39-38 lead. Lockwood led Post with five assists in the win.
 
Post fell behind again until back-to-back threes by Desrosiers put the Eagles in front for good with 17:37 to go. The Eagles would lead by as many as seven before Chestnut Hill cut the deficit to two points before Post's final run.
 
Chestnut Hill held the lead for most of the first half after starting the night with an 8-0 run. The Griffins were up 32-23 with 6:37 remaining in first, their largest lead of the game. Post pulled within one point and went into the half down 38-36.
 
Freshman Jaylen Washington (Frederick, Md.) topped his career-high set just last game with 13 points. Junior Tamas Okros (Bristol, England) had 10 points and seven boards.
 
Post committed just four turnovers on the night, its lowest total in single game since 2014. The Eagles forced 11 miscues leading to 22 points. Post held a massive 26-10 scoring advantage in the paint.
 
The Eagles are back in action at home Saturday afternoon against Jefferson. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m.
