Wilmington, De. – After an early flurry of goals by both team, the Post University women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 game to Goldey-Beacom on Saturday afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate game.

Fenna Maarse (Hilversum, Netherlands) took a pass from senior
Angela Ciaramella (Hamden, Conn.) and put it past goalkeeper Marta Lopez in the inside left post in the 7
th minute to cut the deficit in half for her fifth goal of the season.
The Lightning scored two goals early. The first came in the fifth minute off the foot of Amy Runciman, followed by a goal one minute later as Taylor Owen scored on a fast break goal down the field to make it a 2-0 game.
Post made a late charge in the final minutes, but a shot from Maarse was saved by Lopez, preserving the win for Goldey-Beacom.
Goldey-Beacom outshot the Eagles, 22-13. Sophomore
Hope Wilson (Mahopac, N.Y.) led the Eagles in shots with four. Maarse had three shots. Two of them were on goal. Freshman
Hannah Richards (Huddersfield, England) had five saves on the day for the Eagles.
Up next for the Eagles is a non-conference game against Queens College at LaMoy Field on Oct. 4 at 3 p.m.
