NEWBURGH, N.Y. – The Post University cross country teams competed well at the Mount Saint Mary Invitational on Saturday in Newburgh, N.Y. Senior
Ryan Acey (Plainville, Conn.) ran a career-best time of 27:50 on the 8K course to lead the men to a third place finish.
Acey placed seventh overall out of a field of 200 participants. Freshman
Georgios Moukas (Athens, Greece) also posted a season-best time of 28:29, good for 11
th. Freshman
Tyler Hayward (Naugatuck, Conn.) finished 40
th overall with a time of 29:46. Freshman
Robert Yuja (Waterbury, Conn.) completed the course in 30:18 to finish 48
th.
Sophomore
Kendall Fitzgerald (Kamloops, British Columbia) continued her tremendous season with a victory in the women's 6K race. She finished with a time of 23:49, 48 seconds faster than the second-place finisher. Freshman
Jillian Ducham (Waterbury, Conn.) placed 69
th with a time of 29:04, as the injury-depleted Eagles' team finished 19
th of 25 teams overall.
The Eagles return to action on Sunday, Oct. 8 at the York College Invitational, their final tune-up before the CACC Championships.
