CALDWELL, N.J. – The Post University men's soccer team was defeated 2-0 at Caldwell in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match on Wednesday afternoon. The Eagles fall to 3-5 overall and 2-3 in conference play.
The teams were scoreless in the first half as the Cougars outshot Post 9-5. Post's best opportunity came in the 17
th minute as an attempt by freshman
Sergio Diaz (Madrid, Spain) was turned away. Caldwell had a late shot that hit the crossbar but the score remained 0-0 at the break.
Post had some early chances in the second half, but were unable to score on back-to-back corner kick attempts. Caldwell broke the tie in the 62
nd minute as Tom Yorston scored his first of two on a cross into the box. Yorston scored his second in the 80
th minute to put the game out of reach.
The Eagles had three late shots in the final five minutes but could not break through.
Sergio led the team with four shots on the day while junior
Andre Riello (Sao Paulo, Brazil) added two shots. Senior goalkeeper
Giovanni Riello (Sao Paulo, Brazil) made five saves.
Post is back on the road Saturday afternoon at Goldey-Beacom. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m.
