Caldwell, N.J. - Senior
Anna Powell (Sunshine Coast, Australia) scored her first goal of the season just before halftime, but the Post University women's soccer team dropped a 5-1 game to Caldwell in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game on Tuesday afternoon.
With the Eagles down 2-0, and having just given up a goal in the 44th minute to Caldwell's Jordan Madrid, Powell took a rebound off a shot from seniorÂ
Sam Rodriguez (Wayne, N.J.) - which hit the crossbar - and put it by goalkeeper Daniela Lucca to cut the deficit to 2-1 in the 45th minute.
It would be the only scoring the Eagles would get, as the Cougars scored three more times in the second half to put the game away. Five different Caldwell players scored.
Caldwell outshot the Eagles 18-10 overall, but the teams were tied in shots in the first half, 7-7. SophomoreÂ
Fitore Kllobocishta (Watertown, Conn.) led the Eagles in shots with four, two of them on goal. JuniorÂ
Cailah Baranowski (Naugatuck, Conn.) and freshman
Hannah Richards (Huddersfield, England) split time in net. Baranowski had two saves in the first half and Richards had one save in the second.
Up next for the Eagles is a CACC road game at Goldey-Beacom September 30 at 1 p.m.
