PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Post University women's tennis team improved to 4-1 overall after a 7-2 victory over Chestnut Hill in its Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opener on Sunday in Philadelphia.
Juniors
Juliana Seabra (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and
Sarah Namazi (Waterbury, Conn.) swept Nicole Yang and Laura Lupin at No. 3 doubles. Seniors
Liza Dubrovskaya (Rostov-on-Don, Russia) and
Brianna Miah (Wesley Chapel, Fla.) defeated Daniela Siqueira and Mia Covic 8-4 at No. 1.
In singles, Miah did not drop a match at No. 3 singles, defeating Siqueira 6-0, 6-0. Dubrovskaya earned a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 1 over Nicola Guzowska. Seabra, junior
Jessica Bergen (Bethel, Conn.) and Namazi each won their singles matches to give Post the victory.
On Friday, Post lost its first match of the season 8-1 at LIU Post. Seabra and Namazi earned the Eagles' only point with an 8-0 win over Charlotte Hynes and Christina Jud at No. 3 doubles.
The Eagles return to action at home against USciences on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
