MIDDLEBURY, Conn. – The Post University men's tennis team clinched a bid to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament on Wednesday with a 9-0 victory over Caldwell at Edgewood Bath & Tennis in Middlebury.
Sophomore
Ivan Rajevac (Dubrovnik, Croatia) and freshman
Samuel Urban (Košice, Slovakia) defeated Max Ziegler and Lukas Lemke 8-4 in No. 1 doubles. Juniors
Nikola Crvelin (Kaštel Lukšic, Croatia) and
Ludvig Henrikson (Taby, Sweden) made quick work of James Bojko and Ulysses Leon Far at No. 2, 8-0. Sophomore
Peter Rossel (Vienna, Austria) and freshman
Joe Alvord (Southbury, Conn.) grabbed an 8-5 win at No. 3.
In singles action, Henrikson and Alvord each won their matches 6-0, 6-0. At the top, Crvelin took down Ziegler 6-2, 7-5. Rajevec defeated Lemke 6-1, 6-3 at second singles.
The Eagles improve to 9-6 overall and 3-0 in conference play and are currently fifth in the NCAA East Regional Rankings announced earlier on Wednesday, the highest ranking in school history.
Post is back in action at home tomorrow in a non-conference match against Bloomfield. The Eagles defeated the Bears 9-0 on the road Saturday. First serve is set for 3 p.m.
