Eagles Swept By Felician In Doubleheader

Waterbury, Conn. – Senior Rupert House (Spokane, Wash.) had two RBI in game two, but the Post University baseball team lost both games of a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference doubleheader on Friday to No. 16 Felician. They lost game one, 12-2 and game two, 6-4.

The Eagles (16-21-1, 10-8 CACC) jumped out to a 3-0 in the second inning as junior Brendon Emigholz (West Islip, N.Y.) hit an RBI single that drove in senior Drew Deangelis (Robbinsville, N.J.) followed by a two-run double by House to make it a 3-0 game.

After Felician answered with three runs of its own in the top of the third, sophomore Rosario Missiti (Belmont, Mass.) was hit with a pitch with the bases loaded that scored Emigholz to make it a 4-3 Eagles lead.

However, with two outs in the top of the sixth, Ronnie Grant of Felician hit a two-out double to give Felician the 5-4 lead. They Golden Falcons tacked on one more run in the seventh.

Senior Joey Picone (Washingtonville, N.Y.) was 2-for-3. Emigholz finished the day 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI.

In game one, Felician (29-10, 18-2) jumped out to a 12-0 lead before the Eagles tacked on a run in the eighth and ninth.

Freshman Jared Zima (Berlin, Conn.) was 1-for-3 with an RBI for the Eagles.

Up next for the Eagles is a CACC road doubleheader on Saturday against Chestnut Hill. First pitch is scheduled for noon.
