Men’s Tennis Earns #5 Seed in NCAA East Regional

Eagles earn first tournament bid in team history

INDIANAPOLIS – The Post University men's tennis team was selected to play in the NCAA East Regional for the first time in team history as the brackets were announced Tuesday night. The Eagles earned the fifth seed and will play fourth-seeded Southern New Hampshire in the opening round on Saturday, April 29 in Flushing, N.Y.
 
Post advanced to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship match for the first time on Sunday. The Eagles finished with a 12-9 record overall, the most wins in school history. Junior Nikola Crvelin (Kaštel Lukšic, Croatia) and sophomore Ivan Rajevac (Dubrovnik, Croatia) were named First Team All-CACC, while junior Ludvig Henrikson (Taby, Sweden) earned a spot on the Second Team.
 
Southern New Hampshire (16-6, 9-0 NE10) captured its second-consecutive Northeast-10 Conference title on Saturday with a 5-1 win over Merrimack. The Penmen are led by conference player of the year Tiago Fernandes and boast three All-NE10 honorees.
 
Post and Southern New Hampshire squared off this fall with the Penmen taking the match 9-0.
 
The winner will advance to play top-seeded Queens on April 30, the host for the regional tournament.
