Waterbury, Conn. – Senior 
Alex Johnson (Bethel, Conn.) and junior 
Nick Arnold (West Islip, N.Y.) pitched back-to-back gems and freshman 
Mike Grasso (Wyckoff, N.J.) came up with a clutch hit as the Post University baseball team beat University of the Sciences, 3-1 and 1-0 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference doubleheader sweep Sunday afternoon at Municipal Stadium.
 
With the game tied, 1-1 heading to the bottom of the eighth, 
Mike Grasso hit a two out two-run single to score senior 
Joey Picone (Washingtonville, N.Y.) and sophomore John Cartagena, Jr. (Danbury, Conn.). Cartagena reached on a walk to lead off the inning and Picone singled with one out to begin the rally.
 
Meanwhile, on the mound, Johnson tied a career-high with 12 strikeouts in his eight innings of work, including striking out the side in the first inning. He had four innings where he struck out at least two batters, and only one inning – the sixth – where he didn't strike out a batter.
 
Post got on the board first with an RBI single by junior 
Alex Wright (Butler, N.J.) that scored junior 
Luke Leonardi (Holbrook, N.Y.) to make it a 1-0 game.
 
The Devils got their lone run in the top of the eighth on an RBI single by T.J. Dezzi.
 
Cartagena finished the game 2-for-3 with a run and a walk. Picone finished the day 2-for-4 with a run. 
Mike Grasso was 1-for-4 with two runs scored.
 
Freshman 
Tyler Boisvert (Prospect, Conn.) pitched the ninth inning and struck out a batter to earn his first save of the season.
 
The pitching dominance carried over in game two, as Arnold pitched a seven inning complete game striking out four and giving up just four hits and a walk in his outing. 
 
In the fourth inning, Arnold got out of a jam. With runners on first and second with one out, he got Pat Hiester to hit into a 4-6-3 double play to end the inning.
 
The lone run for the Eagles came on an RBI single by Wright that scored Leonardi in the bottom of the third after Leonardi singled with one out.
 
Kris Morgenweck of USciences also pitched a complete game, striking out five in his outing.
 
Up next for the Eagles is a CACC home doubleheader against Felician on Tuesday, April 25. First pitch is scheduled for noon.
