PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Post University men's tennis team defeated USciences 5-3 on Saturday night in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Semifinals. The Eagles will play for the first conference championship tomorrow against top-seeded Chestnut Hill.
Post fell behind early after dropping its No. 3 doubles match. The duo of juniors
Nikola Crvelin (Kaštel Lukšic, Croatia) and
Ludvig Henrikson (Taby, Sweden) earned the Eagles first point with an 8-5 win over Jake Sosonkin and Nathan Nguyen. Sophomore
Ivan Rajevac (Dubrovnik, Croatia) and freshman
Samuel Urban (Košice, Slovakia) earned another point with an 8-6 victory.
With the Eagles in front in the match 2-1, USciences pulled ahead with victories at No. 3 and No. 5 singles. That would be the last win for the Devils as freshman
Joe Alvord (Southbury, Conn.), Urban, and Crvelin all won in straight sets to clinch the match.
The Eagles and Griffins will battle for the CACC Championship tomorrow afternoon at the Penn Tennis Center in Philadelphia. First serve is set for 12 p.m.
