Waterbury, Conn. – Freshman
Mike Grasso (Wyckoff, N.J.) was 2-for-3 with three RBI in game two of a doubleheader, but the Post University baseball team was swept by Caldwell, 7-3 and 9-4 in a non-conference tilt at Municipal Stadium Wednesday afternoon.
Mike Grasso got the scoring going early in game two as his RBI single drove in senior
Drew Deangelis (Robbinsville, N.J.) to make it a 1-0 game in the bottom of the second. In the fourth, another single drove in two more runs as Deangelis and senior
Rupert House (Spokane, Wash.) scored to make it a 3-0 lead. House singled to lead off the inning and was followed by a walk from Deangelis.
The Eagles (9-17-1) tacked on one more run as senior
Nick Grasso (Wyckoff, N.J.) scored on a double steal.
Mike Grasso was caught stealing on the play.
The big lead didn't last long as Caldwell came back with five runs in the top of the fifth inning to take a 5-0 lead, highlighted by a two-run single by Ryan Rivera. The Cougars scored another run in the sixth on an RBI double by Kevin Goldman before adding three more insurance runs in the seventh.
Deangelis finished the day 2-for-2 with two runs.
In his first start of the season, freshman
Devon King (Easton, Pa.) pitched 4.1 innings, giving up two earned runs and striking out three.

Sophomore
John Cartagena Jr. (Danbury, Conn.) helped the cause with a two-run single that scored classmate Mike Munson and Deangelis. A RBI groundout by senior
Joey Picone (Washingtonville, N.Y.) scored junior
Brendon Emigholz (West Islip, N.Y.) for the other Post run.
However, Caldwell tacked on three more runs in the top of the seventh, thanks in large part to a two-run single by Michael Bernstein.
Junior
Mike Calo (Watertown, Conn.) struck out four in five innings during his start.
Up next for the Eagles is a CACC home doubleheader against Concordia at noon on April 14.
