Waterbury, Conn. – Senior
Drew Deangelis (Robbinsville, N.J.) drove in five runs in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference doubleheader split with Bloomfield. The Eagles won the first game, 13-2 and dropped game two, 9-4.
It was the first home game of the season for the Eagles, and the first games played at newly renovated Municipal Stadium in two years.
In game one, Deangelis drove in four runs and scored two more in the 13-2 win. After falling behind 2-0 after the first inning, the Post offense came alive, scoring six runs in the bottom of the sixth.
The scoring started with a one out RBI single by junior
Don Walsh (Hamilton, N.J.) to put the Eagles on the board. They would then tie the game on a bases load walk from junior
Luke Leonardi (Holbrook, N.Y.) before Deangelis gave the Eagles the lead for good with a two-run single that scored sophomore
Rosario Missiti (Belmont, Mass.) and Walsh to make it a 4-2 game. Junior
Brendon Emigholz (West Islip, N.Y.) would cap the inning with an RBI double to left-center, scoring Deangelis and Leonardi.
It was just the beginning for the Eagles, as they scored four more runs in the next inning, highlighted by a two-run double by Missiti. Walsh also drove in a run on an RBI single and Deangelis tripled to score Missiti.
Post would score one more run in the six on an RBI single by Deangelis, and two more in the eighth, including an RBI single by

Junior
Enzo Esposito (Hamilton, N.J.) struck out eight in 5.1 innings, earning the win for the Eagles.
Deangelis finished the game 4-for-5 with four RBI and two runs. Walsh was 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs. Emigholz was 4-for-5 with two RBI. Missiti was 1-for-5 with two runs and two RBI.
Game two saw the Eagles (9-15-1, 6-4 CACC) take an early 2-0 lead as senior
Rafael Tous (Flemington, N.J.) hit a two-run double to score Deangelis and junior
Alex Wright (Butler, N.J.).
Bloomfield (13-11, 9-4 CACC) would come back two a run in both the third and fourth before taking a 5-2 lead in the fifth as they scored three runs.
Post rallied in the bottom of the sixth for two more runs as Deangelis hit an RBI single to score Leonardi and then Wright scored on a wild pitch. However, the Bears would put the game away with four runs in the top of the seventh as Johnathan Carratala's two-run double for Bloomfield help put the game away.
Tous was 2-for-3 with two RBI. Deangelis was 2-for-3 with one run and an RBI. Wright scored two runs.
Sophomore
Tyler Kovalewich (Colonia, N.J.) struck out five in four innings for the Eagles.
Up next for the Eagles is a CACC home doubleheader against Caldwell on Wednesday. First pitch is scheduled for noon.
