PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Post University women's lacrosse team was defeated by Philadelphia 19-3 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) road game on Saturday afternoon.
Junior
Toni Deren (Greenlawn, N.Y.) won the draw after the Eagles fell behind 8-0 at the 11:13 mark of the first. On the ensuing possession, Middleton tallied her goal first-career goal. Post was able to force a turnover by the Rams next time down the field. Freshman
Leona Stevens (Kingston, Mass.) cut the deficit to 8-2 with her 11
th goal of the year. Senior Nicole Evens (Cortland, N.Y.) added an assist on the score.
Sophomore
Aolani Hermosura (Stamford, Conn.) scored the final goal of the game, her third of the season.
Freshman
Alana Lopez (Wolcott, Conn.) made seven saves and picked up a team-high three ground balls. Evans and Deren each had three draw controls.
Post returns home on Thursday afternoon against Holy Family. Both teams will be playing in support of Lax4Life, an organization that brings awareness to adolescent and young adult suicide prevention. The teams will wear warm-up shirts to support the cause and also be collecting donations at the game. Opening draw is set for 3 p.m.
