AMHERST, N.Y. – The Post University men's tennis team won its spring season opener on Saturday night 6-3 over Daemen. The Eagles are 2-1 on the year heading into a match at Roberts Wesleyan today.
The Eagles took two points in doubles action. Juniors
Nikola Crvelin (Kastel Luksic, Croatia) and
Ludvig Henrikson (Taby, Sweden) defeated Mark Veitengruber and Fabian Wilde 9-8 in the top spot. Sophomore
Ivan Rajevac (Dubrovnik, Croatia) and freshman
Samuel Urban (Kosice, Slovakia) picked up an 9-7 win.
Crevelin made quick work of David Gonzalez Villegas in number one singles with a 6-4, 7-6 victory. Urban defeated Justin Milner 6-4, 6-1 at number five. Henrickson and sophomore Peter Roessel (Vienna, Austria) needed three sets to win their matches. At number three, Henrickson defeated Ricardo Ruiz Martinez 6-2, 2-6, 6-4. Roessel earned a 6-2, 0-6, 7-5 victory over Wilde at number four.
The Eagles return to action this afternoon at Roberts Wesleyan at 4 p.m.
