WATERBURY, Conn. – The Post University women's lacrosse team fell to Wilmington 15-5 at a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game at LaMoy Field on Sunday afternoon. Freshman
Leona Stevens (Kingston, Mass.) and junior
Toni Deren (Greenlawn, N.Y.) each scored twice in the loss.
Deren scored first for the Eagles at the 25:15 mark of the first half to tie the game 1-1. Post would head into the break down 8-1.
Senior
Nicole Evans (Cortland, N.Y.) won the opening draw control of the second half and took it the distance for her first goal of the year. Stevens scored twice for the second game in a row each in the final half. Junior
Savannah Schwack (Manorville, N.Y.) assisted on the second Stevens' goal. Deren added another score in the final minute.
Freshman goalkeeper
Alana Lopez (Wolcott, Conn.) made 11 saves on the day and picked up a team-high five ground balls. Deren and sophomore
Aolani Hermosura (Stamford, Conn.) had two caused turnovers each.
Post will play its first road game of the season on Wednesday against Nyack. Opening draw is set for 3:30 p.m.
