PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Post University men's tennis team began its Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) season with a 6-3 win over USciences on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles are now 7-5 on the year.
Post began the afternoon with wins in two of the three doubles matches. Junior
Nikola Crvelin (Kaštel Lukšic, Croatia) and sophomore
Ivan Rajevac (Dubrovnik, Croatia) took down Jake Sosonkin and Nathan Nguyen 8-6 at No. 1. Junior
Ludvig Henrikson (Taby, Sweden) and freshman
Samuel Urban (Košice, Slovakia) defeated Borna Novak and Rakesh Chamal 8-3.
At No. 1 singles, Crvelin won his fifth-straight match with a 7-5, 6-1 win over Nguyen. Rajevac battled from a set down to grab a 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 victory over Sosonkin at No. 2. Henrikson picked up a 6-1, 6-1 win over Chamal. Freshman
Joe Alvord (Southbury, Conn.) won his fifth match of the year 6-4, 6-0 over Chandat Phan at No. 5 singles.
The Eagles are back on the courts on Tuesday afternoon in a CACC match at Bloomfield. First serve is set for 3 p.m.
