The Eagles got off to a quick start to open their season. Devorin singled to begin the game and after a stolen base came home on a base hit by senior Kristen Owens (Exton, Pa.). Junior Emily Schaffer (Hazlet, N.J.) put Post in front 2-0 with an RBI single to right.

Freshman Leyri Rivera (Dover, N.J.) tripled in her first-career at-bat in the second inning and scored on a passed ball. Franklin Pierce scored its lone run in the bottom of the inning on a sacrifice fly.

Senior Natalie Lennox (Landenberg, Pa.) drew a walk to start the bottom of the third. Freshman Brianna Rotunno (Staten Island, N.Y.) followed with a double to right as Lennox advanced to third with no outs. The Eagles were unable to get on the board as the next three batters went down in order.
