Palm Beach, Fla. – Junior
Nick Arnold (West Islip, N.Y.) struck out seven in a complete game win as the Post University baseball team split a doubleheader with Stonehill on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles won Game 1, 3-0 and fell in Game 2, 2-0.
Arnold gave up just five hits while walking one in the shutout.
After a scoreless first inning, the Eagles got on the board in the bottom of the second as junior
Don Walsh (Hamilton, N.J.) scored on a wild pitch.
The Eagles added one more run in the third and in sixth innings. Senior
Joey Picone (Washingtonville, N.Y.) drove in junior
Alex Wright (Butler, N.J.) on a ground out to make it a 2-0 game in the bottom of the third and sophomore Mike Munson (Plainville, Conn.) did the same in the sixth inning, scoring sophomore
Rosario Missiti (Belmont, Mass.).
In game two, Wright went 2-for-3 in the 2-0 loss. The Eagles had five hits total in the game. Stonehill scored runs in the bottom of the second and third innings.
Junior
Enzo Esposito (Hamilton, N.J.) had the tough luck loss pitching six innings, and striking out six.
Up next for the Eagles is a game against in-state rival Southern Connecticut State University in Boca Raton, Fla. on Monday at noon.
