Holly Springs, N.C. The Post University baseball team lost both ends of a doubleheader against No. 9 Mercyhurst on Saturday afternoon. Mercyhurst won 4-1 and 9-8.

In game two, the Eagles jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the top of the first inning as junior
Don Walsh (Hamilton, N.J.) hit his fourth home run of the season followed by a three-run shot by sophomore Mike Munson (Plainville, Conn.).

Mercyhurst would then take a 7-4 lead after scoring a run in the second, two, in the third, three runs in the fourth and a run in the fifth.

The Eagles responded in the top of the sixth as a ball hit by sophomore
Shawn Boston (Brooklyn, N.Y.) plated junior
Alex Wright (Butler, NJ.) and freshman
Kwan Jones (Easthampton, N.J.) made it a 7-6 game. Senior
Joey Picone (Washingtonville, N.Y.) would tie the game on an RBI single that scored Boston.

In the top of the seventh, Munson's RBI single scored sophomore
Rosario Missiti (Belmont, Mass.) to give the Eagles an 8-7 lead.

However, in the bottom of the seventh, Jimmy Latona hit a walkoff two-run homer to give Mercyhurst the win.

In game one, freshman Jones homered in a 4-1 loss. Mercyhurst scored three runs in the bottom of the first on a solo home run by Latona and a two-run triple by Elliott.

After the homer by Jones in the top of the fifth, Cameron Balego would add an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth with a solo homer to preserve the win for Mercyhurst.

Nick Arnold (West Islip, N.Y.) pitched five innings for the Eagles, striking out two.
