WATERBURY, Conn. – The Post University men's basketball team looks to avenge a loss earlier in the season as it visits top-seeded Philadelphia in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Quarterfinal game on Saturday at 2 pm. at the Gallagher Center in Philadelphia. Post finished the year 11-15 overall and 10-9 in conference play to earn the fourth seed in the North Division.

POST IN THE CACC TOURNAMENT
Post has made the conference tournament 12 years in a row, the longest active streak in the CACC. The Eagles are 3-12 in the tournament during that span. In four of the last five years, Post and Philadelphia have squared off with the Rams taking each contest. Last season, the Eagles dropped a 96-90 overtime battle with USciences. This marks the first time since 2014 that Post has not hosted a quarterfinal game. Post captured its only CACC Championship in 2003.

SCOUTING THE RAMS
Philadelphia enters the tournament with an overall record of 20-8 and were 16-3 in conference play to earn the top spot in the South Division. The Rams have won six straight games heading into the weekend, most-recently an 81-61 victory over Wilmington to clinch the division title. Philadelphia boats three All-CACC honorees led by First Teamer Kaison Randolph. Randolph finished in the top-10 in the CACC in both points (17.0) and rebounds (7.3) per game and leads the conference and is fifth in DII with 38:25 minutes per game. Jordan DeCicco earned a third team nod as he averages 16.9 points per game and is third in the CACC shooting at a 45.1 percent clip from distance. Kylan Guerra was named CACC Rookie of the Year.

ALL-TIME SERIES VS. PHILADELPHIA
Post has not fared well in recent years against Philadelphia as the Rams lead the all-time series 16-2 and have won the last 10 meetings. Post is 0-4 against the Rams in the CACC Tournament.

LAST MEETING: Philadelphia 64, Post 54 (January 10, 2017) – Box Score | Recap
The Eagles used a 25-10 run to battle back from 15-point deficit to tie the game 46-46 with 9:11 remaining, but the comeback fell short. Junior Matt Mareno (San Francisco, Calif.) nearly posted a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds. Senior Malcolm Amos (Brookport, Ill.) led Post with 14 points. Philadelphia held an 18-2 advantage in points off turnovers. The Eagles defense was able to hold Philadelphia to just 64 points, the Rams' second-lowest output of the season and lowest in a CACC game.

CACC ACCOLADES
Junior Tyler Desrosiers (Agawam, Mass.) was named Second Team All-CACC for the second straight year on Friday. He was also named CACC Player of the Week on Feb. 20 becoming the first Eagle since Stephen Perry Jr. ('14) in 2012 to earn the league's highest weekly honor. Desrosiers led Post to a 1-1 week as he averaged 29.0 points and shot 66.7 percent from the field and 92.3 percent from the free throw line. In a victory over Dominican, he scored a career-high 31 points on 10-of-16 shooting. He hit all nine of his free-throws. Desrosiers followed it up with a 10-of-14 shooting performance against Concordia for 27 points.

APPROACHING A MILESTONE
Tyler Desrosiers heads into the CACC Tournament with 965 career points, just 35 away from becoming the 13th player in the Post history to reach the 1000-point milestone and first since 2008.

THE ROAD AHEAD
The winner of this game will play the winner of #2N Dominican and #3S Goldey-Beacom in the CACC Semifinals on Saturday, March 4 in Caldwell, N.J. The championship will be held March 5 at 12 p.m.
