Eagles Snap Five-Game Skid With 67-62 Triumph over Concordia

Post earns first CACC victory of the year

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Post University men's basketball team won its first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game of the year 67-62 over Concordia on Saturday afternoon. The win snapped the Eagles five-game losing streak.

Senior Tyler Desrosiers (Agawam, Mass.) led the way for Post with 28 points and nine rebounds. Junior Tamas Okros (Bristol, England) added 14 points, seven rebounds, four assists, three blocks, and two steals. Freshman Jaylen Washington (Brooklyn, N.Y.) scored six points to go with 10 boards.

Post led by as many as six in the first half after Desrosiers nailed a three-pointer following a steal by Washington. The Clippers hit two from distance as they tied the score 17-17 with 10:32 to go in the first. Concordia took a 28-23 lead late, but the Eagles closed the half on a 9-2 run to take a 34-30 advantage into the break.

The Eagles continued to grow their lead at the start of the second and another three-pointer by Desrosiers gave Post its largest of the afternoon at 46-36. Concordia would not back down as it rolled off a 15-4 run to pull in front by one midway through the second.

With the score tied at 57-57 and just over three minutes to play, senior Joseph Lockwood (London, England), who finished with eight points, hit two free throws. Okros stole the ball on the Clippers next possession and found Washington for a three and the Eagles never trailed again. Post went 5-of-6 from the charity stripe down the stretch to ice the game.

The Eagles take a break until Sunday, Dec. 17 as they return home against Saint Michael's. Tip-off at the Drubner Center is set for 1 p.m.
