WATERBURY, Conn. – Senior
Tyler Desrosiers (Agawam, Mass.) scored 28 points, but it was not enough as the Post University men's basketball team was defeated by Bloomfield 75-62 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game at the Drubner Center on Tuesday night.
The Bears led from start to finish on their way to victory. Down 18-8 in the first half, Post trimmed the deficit to two points with an 8-0 run. A steal by freshman
Daniel Cabassa (Bronx, N.Y.) led to a jumper by classmate
Jaylen Washington (Brooklyn, N.Y.) to make the score 18-16 with 8:58 to go in the first.
Post kept the deficit within single digits until a 14-5 run by Bloomfield closed out the half giving the visitors a 47-30 lead at the break.
Bloomfield extended its advantage to 75-52 with 5:36 remaining. The Eagles held the Bears scoreless the rest of the way as Post scored the final 10 points of the game.
Senior
Joseph Lockwood (London, England) nearly posted a double-double with 11 points to go with nine rebounds. Cabassa added seven points and eight rebounds off the bench.
Post looks to get back on track on Saturday as it visits Concordia. Game time is set for 3 p.m.
