Men’s Basketball Falls to Saint Anselm

Eagles return to action Wednesday at Caldwell

MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Post University men's basketball team was defeated by Saint Anselm 90-66 on Saturday afternoon in Manchester, N.H in its final game of 2017.
 
Senior Tyler Desrosiers (Agawam, Mass.) led the way with 19 points to go with six rebounds. Freshman Darrick Boyd (Springfield, Mass.) added 13 points and three assists. Senior Joseph Lockwood (London, England) pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds.
 
Post trailed by double-digits most of the afternoon. The Eagles did hold an early 4-3 lead after a jumper by freshman Jaylen Washington (Brooklyn, N.Y.) with 15:31 to go. The Hawks took control of the game from there with a 18-2 run to take its largest lead of the first half at 21-6. Post was able to close the gap to 11, but trailed 41-26 at halftime.
 
Saint Anselm led by as many as 32 in the second half. Senior Isaiah Kemp (Astoria, N.Y.) nailed two late three-pointers as part of 9-1 run by the Eagles to close the game. He finished with nine points in just eight minutes off the bench.
 
Fouls were lopsided in the game as Saint Anselm committed just nine and Post had a season-high 22 fouls; leading to the Hawks shooting 26-of-31 from the free-throw line. The Eagles were 4-for-4 from the stripe.
 
Post returns to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play at Caldwell on Wednesday, Jan. 3 at 7:30 p.m.
