PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Post University women's volleyball team was defeated by Chestnut Hill 3-1 in a road Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) on Saturday afternoon in Philadelphia. The Eagles are 15-12 overall and 13-4 in conference play with three games remaining.
Post took the first set 26-24, but was unable to grab another falling 25-15, 25-16, 25-22 on the day. Junior
Shannon Veale (Toms River, N.J.) had two kills and an ace as part of a 9-3 run by the Eagles that gave them a 12-7 lead. A late 5-1 spurt by the Griffins tied the score 24-24. Junior
Sarah Seger (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) landed a kill and sophomore
Ann Marie Nelson (Draper, Utah) blocked home the final point.
The Eagles led 7-3 to start the second set and looked to be well on their way to a 2-0 lead in the match. Chestnut Hill reeled off a 13-2 run to jump ahead for good at 16-9. Another run by the Griffins in the third set built a 22-14 lead the Post could not recover from.
Chestnut Hill looked to run away with the fourth set as it opened up a 10-1 lead. Two kills from junior
Nakajai Mills (Meriden, Conn.) sparked an 8-2 run by Post that made the score 24-22 before the Griffins put the match away.

Brianna Root (Bristol, Conn.) put up 28 assists to go with 24 digs. Classmate
Madison Hunziker (Sacramento, Calif.) led the Eagles with 10 kills. Veale added eight ksills and 13 digs.
