SHELTON, Conn. – Down 5-2 midway through the third period, the Post University men's ice hockey team scored three times, including once with just two seconds left to send its game to overtime against Bryn Athyn on Saturday night.. The Lions scored 50 seconds into the extra period to take the game 6-5 and spoil the Eagles season-opener.
 
Goals by sophomore 
Lucas Smith (Calgary, Alberta) and senior 
Christopher Harris (Barnstable, Mass.) brought the Eagles within one with 6:35 to go. A late turnover in their offensive zone by the Bears allowed freshman 
Anthony Giacomin (Drexel Hill, Pa.) to steal the puck and find sophomore 
Tyler Hackett (Branford, Conn.) for the tying goal in the final seconds.
 
Post led 1-0 early as Hackett was able score in the first period. The Bears scored twice in  the second, including a power play goal to pull ahead 2-1. Freshman 
Evan Lugo (Sandy Hook, Conn.) tallied his first-career goal to tie the game headed to the third.
 
Hackett won a game-high 16 face offs and had six shots on goal. Freshman 
Brandon Brown (Hanahan, S.C.) added 47 saves between the pipes on the night.
 
The Eagles and Bears return to action in Shelton on Sunday at 2:45 p.m.
