BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – Down by as many as 22 in the first half, the Post University men's basketball team pulled within five but were unable to complete the comeback as it fell to Bridgeport 85-79 on Saturday afternoon at the LIU Post Thanksgiving Classic in Brookville, N.Y.
The Eagles found themselves down 70-50 with 10:55 to go in the second half. Senior
Tyler Desrosiers (Agawam, Mass.) nailed a jumper and two three-pointers to spark a 20-5 run for the Eagles. A three by senior
Jason Nunez (Harlem, N.Y.) cut the deficit to single digits at 73-64 with 7:54 remaining.

Darrick Boyd (Springfield, Mass.) to cut the lead to five points, but that is as close as the Eagles would get. The senior scored 28 of his game-high 31 points in the second half as he was 8-of-9 from the floor with six made from distance and 6-of-6 from the line in the half.
Turnovers by the Eagles helped the Purple Knights to its first half lead. Post had 18 miscues which led to 20 points for Bridgeport. Senior
Joseph Lockwood (London, England) hit a jumper with 4:49 to go in the first to make the score 33-28 in favor of Bridgeport. The Purple Knights took control of the game with a 20-4 run to close the half.
Lockwood finished with a double-double at 14 point and 10 rebounds. Boyd added 12 points, four boards, and three assists. The 31 points by Desrosiers ties a career high set last season against Dominican. Post held a 44-36 advantage on the boards.
The Eagles return to action tomorrow on Long Island against LIU Post. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m.
