PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Post University women's tennis team snapped its four-match losing streak with a 9-0 victory over Holy Family in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match Sunday afternoon. The Eagles are now 6-5 overall and 3-2 in CACC play.
Overall Post dropped just five total games on the day and just one in double. At No. 1, senior
Brianna Miah (Wesley Chapel, Fla.) and freshman
Annika Janson (Seeon, Germany) won 8-0. Juniors
Sarah Namazi (Waterbury, Conn.) and
Juliana Seabra (Sao Paulo, Brazil) took their match 8-1 and junior
Jessica Bergen (Bethel, Conn.) and freshman
Sabrina Martino (Waterbury, Conn.) won 8-0 at No. 3.
At No. 1 singles Janson defeated Casey Thomas 6-1, 6-2. Bergen earned a 6-0, 6-1 win over Sam Klem. Miah, Seabra, Namazi, and Martino each won their matches by scores of 6-0, 6-0. For Martino it was her first-career singles victory.
Post is back in action Tuesday at Queens at 3 p.m.
