Men’s Soccer Upends #3 Wilmington 1-0 in CACC Tournament

Walker scores in 15th minute, Eagles outshot 19-3

WILMINGTON, Del. – A goal by senior Kenu Walker (Kingston, Jamaica) in the 15th minute was all the sixth-seeded Post University men's soccer team needed as it defeated #3 Wilmington 1-0 in the first round of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament on Monday.

The Wildcats defense was attempting to clear the ball out of its zone, but failed to do so as Walker took over possession in the box. He launched a shot from the right side to give the Eagles the game's lone goal.

In the 72nd minute, a red card led to Post playing with just 10 men for the remainder of the game. The Eagles defense survived a barrage of shots by the Wildcats late and senior goalkeeper Giovanni Riello (Sao Paulo, Brazil) made four saves to keep the shutout. Post was outshot 19-3 on the afternoon.

The Eagles move on to the CACC Semifinals for the second year in a row and will play #2 Goldey-Beacom on Friday at 1:30 in Lakewood, N.J. #4 Bloomfield and #1 Jefferson will face off in the other semifinal.
