LAKEWOOD, N.J. – A goal by Goldey-Beacom's Nicholas Ladeira in the 93
rd minute downed the Post University men's soccer team 2-1 on Friday in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Semifinals held at Georgian Court University in Lakewood, N.J.
The Eagles controlled play most of the afternoon and had a multitude of chances to break through in the first half as they outshot the Lightning 7-4 overall and 5-1 on goal in the period. Freshman
Sergio Diaz (Madrid, Spain) had five of his game-high eight shots in the first.
In the 56

Eden Gendler (Haifa, Israel) was there to clean up the rebound and put the Eagles in front 1-0 with his second goal of the year.
The Post defense continued to keep the Lightning off the board late into the match. An unfortunate foul in the box led to a penalty kick goal by Mateus Silvestre to tie the score 1-1 in the 74
th minute. The Eagles outshot Goldey-Beacom 4-1 the rest of regulation, but could not score the winner.
The Lightning were able to control the ball after a scramble just outside the box early in extra time and cross from Alvaro Martinez led to the deciding score.
Senior goalkeeper
Giovanni Riello (Sao Paulo, Brazil) made two saves on the afternoon.
Goldey-Beacom will face top-seeded Jefferson for the CACC Championship tomorrow at 10 a.m. The Eagles, who have made the CACC semifinals in nine of the last 10 years, finish the season with an 8-9 record overall.
