WILMINGTON, Del. – The sixth-seeded Post University women's tennis team was defeated by third-seeded Wilmington 5-0 in the first round of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament held Tuesday at the Delcastle Tennis Center in Wilmington, Del.
The closest match of the day for the Eagles came at No. 2 doubles as juniors
Juliana Seabra (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and
Jessica Bergen (Bethel, Conn.) fell to Begona Gomar and Anushka Sathe 8-4. Freshman
Annika Janson (Seeon, Germany, who was named second team All-CACC earlier in the day, and junior
Sarah Namazi were defeated 8-1 at No. 1 doubles.
Freshmen
Sabrina Martino (Waterbury, Conn.) and
Rebecca Eelman (Merrimack, N.H.) both fell in their singles matches to clinch the win for the Wildcats.
Post finishes the season with a record of 6-10. Wilmington advances to the CACC Semifinals against No. 2 Concordia Friday, Oct. 20 at Edgewood Bath & Tennis in Middlebury, Conn. at 1 p.m. No. 4 USciences and No. 1 Goldey-Beacom will meet in the other semifinal at 10 a.m.
