Newark, Del. – Senior Katharina Mertz (Buxtehude, Germany) scored her team leading sixth goal of the season, but the Post University women's soccer team dropped a 3-1 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game to Wilmington on Saturday afternoon.

The loss puts the Eagles a 4-10 overall and 4-5 in the CACC and in seventh place with 12 points. The top eight teams make the CACC tournament.

After the Eagles fell behind 1-0 in the fifth minute on a goal from Rebecca Dolhansky, Mertz took a cross from freshman Sabrina Adamo (Hicksville, N.Y.) and put it past goalkeeper Kierstyn Williams to tie the game up in the 23^rd minute.

The tie lasted six minutes as Loran Wyrough added her CACC leading 14^th goal for the Wildcats (9-5-1, 8-2 CACC) in the 29^th minute. The Wildcats would tack on one more goal by Presile Quaranta in the 75^th minute.

Freshman Imelda Lazaro (Norwalk, Conn.) had a career day in net, stopping ten shots on the day.

Up next for the Eagles is a CACC home game against Felician on October 18 at 3 p.m.
