MIDDLEBURY, Conn. – The Post University women's tennis team fell at home to Wilmington on Thursday 8-1 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate conference (CACC) match. With the loss, the Eagles are 6-7 overall and 3-4 in conference play and will be the sixth seed in next week's CACC Tournament.
The No. 1 doubles duo of freshman
Annika Janson (Seeon, Germany) and junior
Sarah Namazi (Waterbury, Conn.) earned the Eagles' lone point with an 8-6 win over Laura Gil and Andrea Ribalta.
In singles, Janson was defeated by Begona Gomas 6-4, 6-2 at No. 1. Junior
Jessica Bergen (Bethel, Conn.) fought hard at No. 3, falling to Jane Malygina 6-3, 6-4.
Post wraps up CACC play this afternoon with a home match against Goldey-Beacom. First serve is set for 3 p.m.
