Kyla Knight (Seabrook, Texas) the Post University volleyball team defeated Dominican 3-0 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match on Wednesday evening. The Eagles have won five-in-a-row to improve to 11-9 overall and 9-1 in conference play.
Post made quick work of the Chargers in each set, winning by scores of 25-13, 25-12, and 25-11. Back-to-back kills by Seger opened a 12-6 advantage for the Eagles in the first set. Post led by as many as 13 and junior
Madison Hunziker (Sacramento, Calif.) had four kills in the opener.
Dominican scored the first three points of the second before a 20-5 run by the Eagles left no doubt. Post had a match-high five service aces in the set, led by freshman
Suzy Boulay (Kingston, N.Y.) and Seger.
An ace by senior
Sarah Ryder (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) put Post in front 11-1 in the third. The Eagles continued to extend their lead and a kill by freshman
Ashley Levatino (Holtsville, N.Y.) closed the set and the match.
Post had 12 aces on the night, led by Boulay with a season-best four. Ryder added three aces and 10 digs. Junior
Brianna Root (Bristol, Conn.) had 29 assists and seven digs. Sophomore
Ann Marie Nelson (Draper, Utah) led Post with three blocks.
The Eagles return home on Saturday for a battle with first-place Jefferson. Match begins at Drubner at 2 p.m.
