MIDDLEBURY, Conn. – The Post University women's tennis team fell at home to USciences 7-2 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match on Wednesday afternoon. The Eagles are now 6-6 overall and 3-3 in conference play with two league matches remaining.
Post fell in all three doubles matches including two highly-contested matches at two and three. Juniors
Juliana Seabra (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and
Sarah Namazi (Waterbury, Conn.) were defeated 9-8 (7-2) at No. 2 to Danielle Paran and Elkanah Linder. Junior
Jessica Bergen (Bethel, Conn.) and freshman
Sabrina Martino (Waterbury, Conn.) battled in a 9-7 loss to Han Le and Jillian Serrano at No. 3.
The Eagles were able to grab a point at No. 2 singles a freshman
Annika Janson (Seeon, Germany) defeated Linder 7-5, 5-7, 10-8. Namazi won at No. 6 against Serrano 6-2, 6-2. Seabra and Bergen both fell in three sets.
Post is back at home tomorrow in an important conference match against Wilmington. First serve is set for 3 p.m.
