MARLBOROUGH, Mass. – The Post University women's ice hockey team dropped a tough 3-1 affair at Becker on Friday night. Freshman
Sierra Alarid (Cheyenne, Wyo.) scored in her first game in an Eagles uniform.
The first period was a defensive battle as neither team could get on the board. Post had four shots in the period. Samantha Talmadge put the Hawks on the board 2:53 into the second period. Alarid tied the game 1-1 under a minute later with her first goal off a pass from freshman
Jenna Baumgartner (Roseau, Minn.). Talmadge would add one more in the period to put Becker up for good.
Post had 13 shots on the night led by Alarid with five shots on goal. Freshman
Kendall Fitzgerald (Kamloops, British Columbia) won a season-best 20 face offs. Freshman goaltender
Mikaella Doran (Eden Mills, Vt.) made 40 saves.
The Eagles return to action tomorrow night at Johnson & Wales. Faceoff in Providence is set for 6:55 p.m.
