Cailah Baranowski (Naugatuck, Conn.) had nine saves, but the Post University women's soccer team dropped a 4-0 game to Southern New Hampshire on Wednesday afternoon.
With the loss, the Eagles are 0-2 on the season.
The two teams played to a draw in the first half as Baranowski was stellar in net, with five saves, including three in the first nine minutes of the game.
However, the Penmen were able to take advantage of a team marred by injuries as five starters missed the game due to various ailments. Southern New Hampshire scored four times in the second half, all by different players. Abigail Maker scored in in the 66
th minute, followed by quick goals from Tia Woodarek and Sydney Crema in the 75
th and 76
th minute, respectively. Finally, in the 88
th minute, Hannah Chick scored on a header in the box in the 88
th minute to make it a 4-0 game.
Baranowski's nine saves were a career high.
"Cailah has the potential to be a very good keeper once she gains a bit more experience," head coach
Matt Micros said.
Up next for the Eagles is their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opener as they hit the road against Chestnut Hill in Philadelphia at noon on September 10.
