BLOOMFIELD, N.J. – The Post University volleyball team ended a two game road trip with a 3-1 victory in against Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division rival Bloomfield. After dropping their first conference match of the season at Philadelphia on Saturday, the Eagles came out poised, ready to get back to their winning ways.
Post came out victorious in the first set 25-22 after a ferocious comeback. Bloomfield held a commanding 14-5 early on. The Eagles chipped away at the lead and three straight kills by senior
Skylar German (Kansas City, Mo.) made the score 17-14. Trailing 21-15, Post grabbed momentum in the match by closing out the set with a 10-1 run.
Bloomfield jumped out to another big lead in the second set 17-6. This time the Eagles were unable to make another phenomenal comeback as they dropped the set 25-18.
The final two sets remained close early until long runs by the Eagles propelled them to victory 25-17 and 25-16, respectively.
Post was led by German on the offensive and defensive sides of the ball. She had a team high 17 kills and tied for the team lead in blocks seven. Junior
Sarah Ryder (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) led the team with 22 digs and sophomore
Brianna Root (Bristol, Conn) added 40 assists. Senior
Morgan Griffin (Plainfield, Conn.) had 14 kills and 17 digs, her sixth double-double of the season.
Next game for the Post University Eagles will be on Thursday, Sept. 29 against Dominican at home in Waterbury, Conn. Match will be at 7 p.m.
