WATERBURY, Conn. – The Post University men's soccer team won its home opener 1-0 on Tuesday afternoon against Dominican. The Eagles are now 3-5-1 and 2-1-1 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play.
"It was great to finally be back at home after playing our first eight games of the season on the road. The guys have been creating chances all year, but we haven't been able to finish. It's great to see their hard work pay off wit ha victory," said head coach

Ygor Silva (Minas Gerais, Brazil) with a long serve from 20 yards out. Silva beat two defenders and booted it home for the game-winner in the 75
th minute.
The Eagles had multiple chances to take a lead in the first half. Shots by Riello and senior
Armando Filho (Cataguases, Brazil) from close range went just wide. A late header by sophomore
Matteo Moro (Rome, Italy) nearly found the back of the net.
Post outshot Dominican 13-7 on the day and were 4-1 in shots on goal. Senior goalkeeper
Jon Hanlon (Centereach, N.Y.) made one save and recorded his second shutout of the season.
The Eagles hit the road for a CACC contest on Wednesday, Oct. 5 against Bloomfield. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
