Post Men’s Soccer Shuts Out Bloomfield 2-0

Eagles improve to 3-1-1 in CACC play

BLOOMFIELD, Conn. – The Post University men's soccer team defeated Bloomfield 2-0 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) road contest on Wednesday night. The Eagles have won their last two games and improve to 3-1-1 in CACC play and 4-5-1 overall.

"This was one of the most physical games we have played in this year. We were very dangerous on attack all night and played great defense. The seniors really stepped up and provided the leadership we needed to pick up a big road win," said head coach Ted Haley.

Graduate student Mamadee Kamara (Bronx, N.Y.) put the Eagles on the board in the 14th minute with a penalty kick goal for his second tally of the season. Bloomfield would not go down easy as it outshot Post 9-4 in the first half. Senior goalkeeper Jon Hanlon (Centereach, N.Y.) stopped all five shots he faced in the first half.

Post threatened to extend its lead late in the half as it had three corner kick attempts and two late shots on goal, but the score remained 1-0 at the break.

Senior Abdallah Bah (St. Paul, Minn.) extend the Eagles' advantage with his second goal of the year in the 61st minute. A hard shot by Bah deflected off the Bears' keeper Wilson Cisneros and found the back of the net to put Post in front 2-0.

"I'm proud of the guys for working hard and we are all looking forward to playing a few big games at home," added Haley.

Bloomfield outshot the Eagles 14-8 overall but each team at six shots on target. Hanlon finished with a season-high six saves to pick up his fourth clean sheet of the year.

The Eagles return home on Saturday afternoon against Georgian Court. Kickoff at LaMoy Field is slated for 3 p.m.
