PHILADELPHIA, Pa.- The Post University volleyball team saw its 10-game win streak fall on Saturday with a 3-1 loss at Philadelphia. The Eagles are now 10-3 overall and 2-1 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play.
Post jumped out to an early one set lead with a 25-22 victory after a very strong start by seniors
Skylar German (Kansas City, Mo) and
Hailey Griffin (Plainfield, Conn.).
German and Griffin led the Eagles in offense with 14 kills each. Senior
Morgan Griffin (Plainfield, Conn.) posted a career-high 25 digs. Sophomore
Brianna Root (Bristol, Conn.) and junior
Sarah Ryder (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) also added 19 digs each.
With the score tied 11-11 in the second set, Philadelphia scored six of the next seven points to jump out to a 17-12 lead and did not look back. Post pulled within four, but dropped the set 25-18. The story was the same in the third set as the Eagles fell 25-14.
In the final set down 24-19, Post scored four straight points on Rams' errors to cut the deficit to one, but were unable to extend the match.
Post will be on the road at Bloomfield on Tuesday September 27
th at 7 p.m. in a rematch of last season's CACC Championship match.
