PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Post University men's soccer team tied with Holy Family 1-1 on Saturday afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match. The Eagles are 2-5-1 overall and 1-1-1 in conference play heading into their home opener.
Post outshot the Tigers 7-2 in the first half, but were unable to break the scoreless tie as the game headed into the break at 0-0.
Junior
Osman Sillah (Helsinki, Finland) found the back of the net for his first goal of the season in the 60
th minute. Senior
Abdallah Bah (St. Paul, Minn.) struck first from close range but had his shot saved, Sillah stepped up and booted home the rebound to put the Eagles in front 1-0.
Holy Family answered back in the 65
th minute as Connor Stackhouse found Christopher Tracey for the tying goal. Each team had two shots on goal down the stretch but could not finish as the game headed to extra time.
Senior
Armando Filho (Cataguases, Brazil) had a chance to score in the opening minute of the extra period as Post continued to pressure the Tigers offensively and outshot Holy Family 5-0 in overtime.
Sillah and Bah each had four shots. Junior
Nicholas Strecker (Uncasville, Conn.) and Filho added three shots each. Senior
Jon Hanlon (Centereach, N.Y.) made four saves in goal.
The Eagles will play their first home game of the season on Tuesday afternoon against Dominican. Kickoff at LaMoy Field is set for 3 p.m.
