Bronxville, N.Y. – Freshman
Fitore Kllobocishta (Albania) scored two goals and assisted on a third as the Post University women's soccer team defeated Concordia, 3-1 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Game.
For the Eagles, it was their third straight win. They are now 3-2 overall and 3-0 in CACC Play.
Kllobocishta - who scored her first goal in Post's previous game against Nyack – gave the Eagles a 1-0 lead in the 20
th minute as she dribbled towards the middle of the box and took a shot past Concordia goalkeeper, Stephanie Wilczynski.
The game would go into the half tied, 1-1 after Concordia's Caitlin Ziemba scored in the 25
th minute.
In the 58
th minute, however, Kllobocishta would score her second goal of the game, this time with the help of junior
Angela Ciaramella (Hamden, Conn.) who set up a pass inside the box. Kllobocishta's shot would go off the hand of Wilczynski into the net.
Kllobocishta would return the favor in the 89
th minute as she forced a turnover in the midfield, leading to a pass to Ciaramella who scored.
Sophomore
Cailah Baranowski (Naugatuck, Conn.) was stellar in net, with eight saves.
Coach
Matt Micros has been very pleased with the early season.
"It has been a team effort so far offensively and defensively. So far seven different people have scored at least one goal for us. It's a good group with some great leaders for captains (
Sylvia Yanez,
Brooke Lawlor,
Valerie Moore and
Katharina Mertz). And with a group of seven freshmen that have contributed this year already, the future looks bright," Micros said.
Up next for the high flying Eagles is a CACC road game at Holy Family on September 24 at noon.
