WATERBURY, Conn.- Senior
Skylar German (Kansas City, Mo.) recorded her 1,000
th career kill in a Post uniform this afternoon as the Eagles beat Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) foe Chestnut Hill 3-1. The Eagles have won eight consecutive games.
German had 14 kills, 12 digs, and four blocks on the afternoon. Senior
Morgan Griffin (Plainfield, Conn.) recorded yet another double-double with 17 kills and 15 digs while
Hailey Griffin (Plainfield, Conn.) added 17 kills of her own.
The first set was all Eagles as they jumped out to a very early lead and did not look back as Hailey and
Morgan Griffin had a team high six kills apiece in the set to lead Post to a 25-15 victory.
In the second set it was more of the same, the Griffins were knocked on their heels by a long service rally from sophomore
Brianna Root (Bristol, Conn.). As Root came to the service line, Post held a lead of 18-12 and she served the Eagles to a 25-12 victory. Root finished with 49 assists and a team-high 18 digs.
Post had Chestnut Hill on the ropes in the third set as the Eagles opened an 8-2 lead from the start, however the Griffins fought back to take the third 25-22. Post returned to form in the final set coming away with a 25-18.
German is the sixth Eagles volleyball player to reach the 1,000-kill plateau
The Eagles will be back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 21 in the Drubner Center against Felician. Game begins at 7 p.m.
